Transect Report 2020

Due to Coronavirus restrictions even coverage of Transects was difficult in the early part of the season.

Number of Transects Walked   71

Number of Transect 60% coverage   18

The main purpose of Transects is to Calculate Population Trends and to monitor Key Species.

To ensure an element of confidence sites which have not been walked in the first 4 weeks of the season have not been used. Sites which have not been walked for the last 5 years  have not been used.  The remaining counts have been adjusted for missed weeks.

The result is that only 12 sites remain.   There are normally 40 sites after following the same procedure.

Even with these restrictions some meaningful trend lines and bar charts have been produced.  These have been uploaded under species on the website.

Using non-adjusted figures we can look at the sites and numbers where BAP species occur.  A Bar Chart showing Sites and Numbers counted is shown on the website.

The Second Chart is selected sites which were covered for the whole year
