We found Grizzled Skipper at this site in April 2007 after a tip-off from local birders. We found 12 on the bank adjacent to the stream on the north of the site.

The site was becoming overgrown with scrub so in January 2008 and 2009 we started a series of work parties clearing the scrub after permission from the site managers. We were also supported with volunteers from the Vale Landscape Trust

In May 2009 the same year 13 Grizzled Skippers were found with Brown Argus, and Small Heath

The Pattern of winter work party and spring monitoring continued with gradual loss of habitat and butterfly numbers on the stream bank site. In 2018 we started to look in different parts of the site and in 2018 we found 60 Grizzled Skippers around the edge of the lagoons.
2018 Survey
Again scrub invaded the site and numbers decreased until 2023 when only 3 Grizzled Skippers were found.
Some drastic habitat management had to take place so in winter 2023 a Robo Cutter was employed Winter Work 2023
