Small Blue has been absent from the West Midlands for many years. There have been several sites near the Worcestershire/Gloucestershire border.
However in June 2019 a small colony was found on Broadway Hill. There is a small amount of foodplant, Kidney Vetch. This will be a site to monitor in the future. Small Blue still found on this site in 2022
No Records at Broadway in 2025
We have a number of records each year for Small Blue (unconfirmed) by a photograph apart from the record on Broadway Hill.
These records although unconfirmed are well worth checking out a map for food plant is shown below and a Google Map to identify the location.
